It's the last day of school in these parts, and tomorrow is the first day of hurricane season, so I thought I should "catch up" with my Soroptimist Sisters as we transition to summertime!

A group of our club members attended the Soroptimist conference in Key Largo in early May, and lo and behold! President Connie Desko and SI Davie member Judi Rosentreter pulled Marion Spyke's name as the winner of the Laurel Society Membership! She has been in the club for a long time and is ever so deserving of this honor. We all love Marion and her gorgeous daughter, Barbara, and we're so lucky that they are members of our club: SI Davie!

Thanks to all who shared photos! Top photo of Marion with her daughter, Barbara Granger! Bottom photo: President Connie Desko and SI Davie's Judi Rosentreter present Marion Spyke with the Laurel Society membership!

Among the many "projects" we take on in Soroptimist International of Davie, a favorite is Davie Elementary School. The staff is terrific and they inspire their students to reach for the stars! SI Davie members (from left) Peg Snow, Donna Gray, Bobbie David, Gayle Buening, Helene Ditter and President Dianne Aucamp attended the Davie Elementary School Volunteer & Partner Appreciation Breakfast April 26th and from the looks of this photograph, they had a good time!
