Hello,
To all the Davie Soroptimist members that participated in this first gathering of items to send to our troops: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am taking 3 full boxes to the Post Office tomorrow for our first package to our troops. I was not totally surprised by the generosity of our members, but pleasantly surprised since we did not have a meeting. All of you who went out of your way to send to our troops, Thank You.

If anyone would like to write to the officer in charge, here is his information:
2LT Peter Euler
714th Maintenance Co (SECFOR)
352nd CSB
APO AE 09334

It filled my heart with joy at the support you all have shown our guys and gals serving over there. I will keep you abreast of our next mailing. Again, thank you, each and every one.
Marie

HELP!
Please tell ten friends to tell ten today!
The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing! Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammograms in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/ AGAIN, PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 FRIENDS TODAY!
Many thanks ...

Just in, from Gayle:
Am I the first to write to the blog? Cool! Never did this before.
Let's start with the Southern Region District 1 Meeting. It was terrific! Connie did a bang-up job and the presenters Saturday were top notch. I learned a lot about the International flavor of Soroptimism and the friendships made with other clubs and with women around the world. I wish more of our Davie group could have made it because it was well worth attending. Lunch was tasty and Connie and her committee blended members from all clubs at each table. Very nice. Some clubs were vending in an area designated for that purpose. I purchased a Soroptimist license plate or two. Don put it on my car and I must say, it looks pretty good. I will have one to raffle off for the club at the next meeting.
